Dennis Martire Makes Union Workers’ Jobs More Valuable to Employers

Dennis Martire’s work as a union leader has him taking on a lot of responsibility, primarily the responsibility of making his members’ working conditions better’ Dennis’ work with the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) also involves making sure LiUNA’s top-notch training programs are the best they can be. By providing continuing training for members, he assists them with performing their job-related tasks more competently and efficiently, which makes them more useful and valuable to their employers, which is a key to keeping any union vital to its workers. This training is available in a wide range of subjects and specialties and it assists workers with advancing in their careers. At the same time, advanced training assures their employers that union workers are more efficient and cost-effective than non-union workers.

Dennis Martire currently resides in Northern Virginia with his family. Some time ago, Dennis obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Government in 1986 from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is currently a proud member of LiUNA Local #1058 out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His long and steady advancement in LIUNA is a testament to his years of commitment and dedication to the union’s large and growing membership. Dennis considers it a personal mission to better the working conditions and provide all laborers with good paying and secure jobs. Dennis now manages LiUNA’s Mid-Atlantic Region.

In addition to that work, Dennis Martire also serves as an advisor on many boards and committees, including the American High Speed Rail Alliance Advisory Board, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Maryland Transportation Funding, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), and the Dulles Area Transportation Authority. Dennis Martire is also tightly involved with the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA), he serves as a Trustee for the Mid-Atlantic Laborers’ Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (MALECET), and he serves as Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizing Coalition (MAROC), and Chairman of the Performance Management Committee, as well as a Committee Member for the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board, Board Member (PA WIB), among many others.
